Traverse Quilt Pattern Now Available
I am excited to announce that the Traverse quilt pattern is now available in my shop! The Traverse quilt was first introduced as a block of the month hosted by local quilt shops over the last year. We had lots of fun, but we know not everyone was able to join us. Now you can! The Traverse Quilt is now available as a stand alone pattern, or you can purchase the pattern with the video course included to get over 6 hours of video lessons that include lots of helpful tips and tricks for each technique included in the Traverse quilt pattern.
The Traverse quilt is a great pattern for featuring vibrant colors row by row, but it is just as gorgeous when made with a neutral color palette.
The Traverse Quilt is a row by row quilt. I designed the quilt so that each row demonstrates a range of techniques. The shapes and motifs featured in each row play well with all the others, making it an intricate and comprehensive design. Don’t let the word intricate scare you, though! Traverse is beginner friendly, as long as you’re an adventurous beginner!
The techniques featured in the Traverse quilt pattern include strip piecing, curves, and no tear foundation paper piecing. We’ll also use foundational shapes like HSTs, flying geese, triangles, and diamonds.
Today I'm sharing some different color ideas for designing your next Traverse quilt.
This first one is a neutral color way, with just a hint of color. Cool tones and value are really the stars of the design here.
The cool blues and greens, with soft yellow and just a hint of pink, in this color way make me think of sea glass or early morning at the beach.
The warm pinks and oranges and cool greens and blues in this color way are somehow soothing and vibrant at the same time. I love the pop of color in the center row.
The warm tones in this design make for a great summer quilt project, with a pop of aqua and green to add interest.
These metal tones are a dramatic design choice, with value playing such an important role as you move from one row to the next.
This color way calls to mind some of my favorite Fall colors, featuring warm, vibrant colors, and a few neutrals for balance.
These are just a few of the many possibilities for Traverse quilt designs. Each row offers an opportunity to use color and value to create your own unique design. The pattern is available now in my shop. If you'd like step by step guidance and all my tips and tricks for making your Traverse quilt, be sure to check out my video course. I can't wait to see how you take this pattern and make it your own!
