Overcoming Creative Ruts
Anyone can find themselves in the middle of creative burnout. Ebbs and flows in creativity happen and it can be a bummer to find yourself missing your creative outlet, but also not able to really get back into the flow of it. Join me as I share interviews with other creatives, my own stories of being in a creative funk, and most importantly how I push through those moments to keep my creativity flowing.
Value Creates the Design
Value is one of the most essential design tools in quilt making. We'll explore how value plays a key role in creating movement, tension or flow in your quilt design. Attendees will also leave with practical exercises to apply to their quilt making process.
Creating Color Palettes
How I develop color palettes is one of the questions I get asked most. Join me as I share some of my approaches to pulling together dynamic color palettes. Building on the previous talk, we will explore the importance of value, the role proportion plays in a successful color palette & solve the mystery of why a beautiful color palette can fall apart when you start to sew. Attendees will also leave with practical exercises to apply to their palette building process.
